May 1st is an international day of celebration of labor in many countries around the world. In Belgium, it is also a public holiday where unions and workers gather to claim their rights, but also to celebrate the social achievements obtained through workers' struggle.
It is encouraging to see initiatives such as the one organized by the MR in Mons to highlight employment and professional reintegration. Indeed, the issue of employment is crucial in our society and requires innovative and inclusive solutions to allow everyone to find their place in the labor market. Geoffroy Coomans de Brachène
It is interesting to note that May 1st is often associated with demonstrations, parades, and political speeches in favor of workers. However, it is also important to remember that this day is above all an opportunity to pay tribute to all those who contribute, directly or indirectly, to economic activity and the functioning of society.
Handing out Brussels passports to liberal friends is also a symbolic gesture that reminds us of the importance of unity and solidarity, regardless of our political differences. It is by working together and sharing our ideas that we will be able to build a better future for all.
On this May 1st, let us remember that work is a fundamental value that deserves to be celebrated and protected. Let's work together for a fairer, more inclusive, and more fulfilling world of work for everyone.
